A very happy new year to all my bloggy friends! After a nice, long hiatus, I will return to blog world in a few days! Right now I'm working on formatting a new blog, so bear with me! Can't wait to update you all on wedding, honeymoon, and life in general!

    Grace and Peace in Christ,

  • a few short weeks (or, um...12)

Well, m'dears. It's been quite a bit longer than I expected! I still won't have internet access from home for a while, but I thought I would update you all while I'm babysitting my little friend. I've certainly missed keeping up with you all! It's a good week when I can check my email once!

That's right, it's T-minus 87 days until the rings are on the fingers! We are right in the crux of all of our planning right now... but we've got the place, the clothes, the flowers and the cake all set!

    Here's a little summary:

We are going to be wed in our church's new sanctuary (which may not be finished until September! *deep breath*). It should be quite beautiful, and full of significance for us. My five pretty maidens are all  going to be awash in bronze satin, matching the vests on Josh's fellows. The flowers and foliage are a mix of burnt orange and deep burgundy, accented with splashes of autumn reds and greens here and there. We chose a florist who provides for a partial do-it-yourself  package, so she is doing the bouquets, and my gals and mommas and I are assembling the boutonnieres, corsages, and reception decorations with wholesale flowers- all in the florist's workroom, and with their supplies. I'm all for anything that saves a few bucks and allows for personal creativity! The whole look and feel should be a little like the below, but not quite so bright and busy. My bouquet will be carried over my arm,  fashioned with orange asiatic lilies (the signature flower for our day), berries, roses, dahlias, and ivy.

We have reserved our cake baker (a sweet lady who works out of her home), and I'm still working on the design, but we know it will be a three-tier buttercream of multiple flavors. All these decisions can be a bit overwhelming, so I'm thankful I have a kind, creative and decisive man to help me! I'm also quite glad for his amazing graphic design skills - we are looking forward to designing our invitations together.

On the non-wedding front, I just accepted a job working with 4 yr olds at a Christian preschool. I'm so grateful for the opportunity, as I have been praying for and looking for the right job for quite some time, and the Lord has been faithful. I'm really looking forward to teaching and playing with the little blessings!

Edit: grrr. I'm having trouble editing the modules on my site... sorry for the ugly.
